USATF Region 15 Bantam Girls 4X100m Relay Championship.

USATF Region 15 Bantam Girls 400m Championship.

Congratulations to the bantam girls 4 X 100 Meter Relay team for winning the USATF Region 15 Championship, with a time of 56.65 seconds, which earned them a trip to Greensboro, North Carolina for the 2009 Junior Olympic Championships. They will be competing against teams from all over the United States. The team consists of the following athletes: 1st leg - Marcella Murphy (10 years old); 2nd leg - Staci Ramsey (10 years old); 3rd leg - Samantha Seaton (10 years old); and anchor leg - Britanie Butts (10 years old).

Also, three girls accomplished one of the most difficult thing to do, getting out of Region 15 in an individual event. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in any event qualify for the Junior Olympics:

Sasha Goff (11 years old) qualified for the Junior Olympics in the 80 Meter Low Hurdles by placing 3rd out of 24 competitors.

Britanie Butts (10 years old) qualified for the Junior Olympics by placing 3rd in the 400 Meter Dash, a personal best of 1:03.84. This time ranks her 4th in the Nation for her age group.

Vanessa Lopez (14 years old) accomplished a very difficult task by qualifying in two events. She placed 3rd in the 800 Meter Run to advance to the Junior Olympics. She is also the USATF Region 15 Champion by winning the 1500 Meter Run in a time of 4:55.27.

Their hard work and dedication has played a tremendous part in getting them to the qualifying point, but we still need your help in getting them to North Carolina.

Your donation will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations High Desert Heat Girls!!!!
